Visitor
This visa lets you visit Australia:
- to visit or for business visitor purposes
- for up to three, six or 12 months.
The base application charge for this visa ranges from AUD140 to AUD1020.
You might be able to get this visa if you are travelling to Australia:
- as a visitor
- for business visitor activities
- to visit family
- on a tour with a registered travel agent from the People’s Republic of China.
If you are in Australia you can apply for the Tourist stream of the Visitor visa online provided you currently have a valid visa that does not have condition 8503 imposed.
If you are outside Australia only certain passport holders can apply for this visa online.
If you hold a passport from the People’s Republic of China and are applying from within China you might be able to apply for the Visitor Visa (subclass 600) Frequent Traveller stream visa.

You cannot work.
This visa is available through travel agents and airlines. It is also available online for eligible passport holders for a $20 service charge.
As the holder of a passport from your country, your visa options also include the eVisitor visa (subclass 651). eVisitor visas are similar to ETAs but:
you can apply for the eVisitor visa online – there is no fee.
you can only apply for this ETA through a travel agent or airline. You cannot apply for it online – please do not use the online link in the visa finder.

The working Holiday visa (subclass 417) is a temporary visa for youth who desire to holiday and work in Australia till one year. This visa supports intellectual exchange and close bonding between Australia and suitable countries.
First Working Holiday visa:
You must be away from Australia when you make a request for your first Working Holiday visa and when the visa is been sure.
Second Working Holiday visa:
If you submit an application in Australia, you must be inside Australia when the visa is approved. If you submit an application outside Australia, you must be outside Australia when the visa is approved.
Working in Australia – six months with one employer:
You can generally only work six months with one employer.
The visa lets
- Live in Australia till maximum 12 months
- Get employed in Australia, usually till six months with each employer
- Get educated in Australia for up to four months
- Go away and re-enter Australia several times while the visa is legal.
Essentials
- A visa applicant might be able to get this visa if he is at least 18 years of age or not more than 31 years of age.

Temporary Work (Activity)
The temporary work (Long Stay Activity) visa (subclass 401) is for those people who desire to come to Australia on for a short time (temporary basis) under any of the following four streams:
Exchange Stream: to work in a professional position under a mutual staff exchanges arrangement to:
- Provide opportunity to experience a different culture
- To uplift international bonding
- Expand the experience and knowledge of participants
Sport stream: To make better the quality of sport in Australia through taking part in elite class competition with Australian residents to:
- Take part in a definite event or sequence of events as an individual or as part of a squad or its support staff
- Play, train or guide (Coach) for a sporting unit for a term under agreement

Domestic worker (Executive) stream: To work as a permanent householder of a certain foreign executive.
The visa contains a three step process:
- Sponsorship: An association, government bureau, or foreign government agency applies to become a long period-stay activity sponsor.
- Nomination: The long-stay activity sponsor declared you to undertake an activity
